Here’s my latest video, in which I discuss the Scottish Independence Referendum, my holiday to New Jersey and Toronto, a new project and what I’ve been reading lately.
I voted yes too, think everyone felt similar to yourself Nic, was a big day.
Would like to see your thoughts on the George Square incident, the lack of reporting on it or the biased reporting that is out there. Sadly people are laying it with Glaswegians when lots of reports it was EDL hence the chants of hate the Scottish, bah.
Have a lovely trip, safe travels. I have never been to Jersey or Toronto. Here is to lots of book shopping. I have never read essays by choice, I have looked over my fellow students essays before submission, never by choice. What turned you on to that? I will keep an eye out for that.
The George Square events were really disappointing – worse still the way they were under- and misreported. I hope things clam down and move forward. That’s all I can really say!
Thanks for the holiday wishes! I got into essays from 2 sides really: through memoir, especially funny memoirists like David Sedaris and Augusten Burroughs; and through longer non-fiction like Bill Bryson’s work. I started reading more longform articles online this year, so more books started to take my interest through that too. Sedaris is a good place to start if you’re interested.
